It has been reported that nearly a third of suspected dementia cases among those 65 and older in Blackburn with Darwen (BwD) do not have a formal diagnosis. NHS
figures shows that 1,575 people aged 65 and older living in BwD were estimated to have dementia in March 2023. 1,077 have had a diagnosis leaving 498 without a
formal diagnosis.
