Blackburn with Darwen Public Health team are developing a child poverty strategy to mitigate the impact of poverty, and working with organisations to reduce the barriers that children, young people and families who live in poverty may experience. Child poverty rates in 2021/22 were 42.2% in the borough, with Blackburn with Darwen being one of the top 20 local authorities with highest child
poverty rates.
