As part of Hospice UK’s work to address inequity in access to high quality palliative and end of life care, they are producing a report on access for people facing financial hardship and how hospices across the UK can better support this group. To ensure that their policy report is informed by lived experience, they are holding five focus groups across the UK, one of which will be held in Blackburn with Darwen.
The focus group is scheduled to take place on Monday 15 April, between 11:15-12:15. Tea will be available for participants from 11:05. The session will be held at East Lancashire Hospice, Park Lee Road, Blackburn BB2 3NY and will last one hour. The group will be limited to 10 people and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-service basis.
Participants will be provided with information about the nature of their involvement. Hospice UK will also offer to pay participants £25 for their time and cover reasonable expenses incurred. Where relevant, Hospice UK will provide a formal letter to the Job Centre or DWP explaining that this is a service user involvement exercise, rather than work.
