Chief Executive Stepping Down
Mark Rasburn, Chief Executive of Healtwatch Blackburn with Darwen, is leaving the organisation in October.
Mark was appointed in June 2014 following his involvement in the successful set-up of the organisation. He has led the organisation to be nationally recognised for their creative engagement projects, their work in equality and diversity, and creating an open and transparent organisation. The work Healthwatch BwD has done has been used to improve health and social care services not only locally, but regionally and nationally, submitting oral evidence of local young people at a national inquiry the House of Lords.
Mark will leave Healthwatch BwD on the 14th October. Healthwatch BwD will run an open recruitment campaign for a Chief Officer. In the interim, Ben Pearson, Project Manager, will step up to Chief Officer with immediate effect after Mark’s departure.
Sir Bill Taylor, Chairman of Healthwatch BwD, said:
“We wish Mark well in his new, national profile role. He's been pivotal in securing a great start for our Healthwatch locally & also successfully participated in regional & national initiatives. We wish him well & will welcome his successor who will bring their skills & experiences to further develop our work & its impact locally.”
“I would like to thank Sir Bill Taylor, the Board, all my colleagues and our volunteers for their dedication and passion. I am proud of what we have achieved together over the past few years. We’ve established ourselves as a leading Healthwatch and had a real impact in enabling local people to have their voices heard. Although I am sad to be leaving, I know I leave the organisation in a strong position and in great hands and wish Healthwatch all the best for its future.”
