BIHR & Healthwatch BwD Regional Summit on Mental Health and Human Rights
Healthwatch Blackburn with Darwen and the British Institute of Human Rights are pleased to invite you to one of three Regional Summits on Mental Health and Human Rights.
The regional summits will be the culmination of BIHR’s three year project Care and Support: A Human Rights Approach to Advocacy. We will share learning from our work across England on how human rights can help improve mental health and mental capacity services and outcomes. This will include good practice examples from Healthwatch Blackburn with Darwen on the impact of putting human rights at the heart of their work. The summit will take place on:
15th February 10-4pm, Kings Court, 33 King Street, Blackburn , BB2 2DH
We’re pleased to announce that the summits will also launch our new series of booklets co-developed with advocacy/support groups, to empower people who use services about their human rights.
Each summit will include a panel discussion of BIHR’s local partners, sharing their experiences first-hand and setting the context for discussion on how human rights can help you to work collaboratively to improve services locally.
As a local Healthwatch, we would be delighted if you could attend and join these important discussions. The summits will attract a broad range of attendees, from those working in service design or delivery, advocates, support groups, regulators, Commissioner, elected officials and representatives of local service user led/peer support groups. Please do circulate these details widely to anyone you think might be interested.
