Our Amplify Champions attend Undivided Event

08/11/2016

On the 26th October seven young people from Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio & Darwen Vale High School attended Undivided, an event aimed to ensue young people have a say over Brexit negotiations. This was a great opportunity for them to understand more about the EU whilst allowing them to discuss their ideas & thoughts with other young people from around Blackburn with Darwen. Young people also watched a performance by SYLNCS which explored Child Sexual Exploitation.

Ben Pearson, Interim Chief Officer said ‘It’s great that we can get our Amplify Champions & young people we work with involved in such a wide range of activity. It allows them to see the bigger picture & understand how important it is to have their voice heard. It also equips them with the skills to make a noise about the things that affect them locally, things that ultimately have an impact on their health & wellbeing.’

Amplify is Healthwach Blackburn with Darwens Young Persons Project, it began in October 2015 & in that time they have spoken to over 1700 young people in the borough. To find out more contact 01254 504985 or amplify@healthwatchbwd.co.uk
