New Healthwatch Volunteer led Project ELI

20/10/2016

Project ELI is our new volunteer led project which aims to gather and report on the views of people who have been identified as being vulnerable or who are currently experiencing loneliness and isolation. We intend to speak to community members about:

  • Why some individuals experience loneliness and isolation.
  • Awareness of services/ activity groups in Blackburn and Darwen that people use/ can use to limit the effects of loneliness and isolation.
  • Existing provision and gaps in provision and how barriers to accessing available services can be overcome.

We will be holding regular discussion meetings on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 2-4pm at The Postal Order in Blackburn (Family area).  These are informal engagement meetings aimed at helping us to gather views/lived experience on the subject, identify barriers and gaps in knowledge of existing activity/support groups or services.

A more formal task group meeting for volunteers and partners will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Your Support Your Choice
